Roofing Membranes Underlay Membranes Garla Vent TA
Garla Vent TA is a glass fibre based perforated venting underlay, finished with sand surfacing on the top side and a polyethylene film on the reverse. Torch ‘Vent Underlay is specifically designed for use with torch applied roofing membranes and when used as the first layer of a torch applied built up felt roofing system, will provide a positive partial bond to prepared none combustible substrates.
Manufactured with an oxidised bitumen coating, Torch Vent Underlay can be used in conjunction with both SBS and SPP modified torch-on roofing.
Garla Vent TA is used as a perforated venting layer for use with Torch Applied Membranes.
Torch Vent Underlay should be installed generally in accordance BS 8217:2005, Code of practice for reinforced bitumen membranes for roofing and to Permanite specifications. Torch Vent Underlay is laid loose, polyethylene film down, and the subsequent layer is fully bonded by torch application over the top. Molton coating bitumen from torching the subsequent layer runs through the holes in the Torch Vent Underlay and provides a controlled partial bond to the substrate. When torching in a confined location or adjacent to flammable material, precautions must be taken to avoid any fire hazard.
