Product Discription

Solex® is a white, environmentally friendly, reflective roof coating formulated from a water-based, fluoropolymer-acrylic resin. Solex contains a unique Kynar Aquatec® water-based PVDF resin to give you extended protection from exposure to water, humidity, temperature extremes, UV and atmospheric pollutants. It is designed for application by brush, roller or spray. Once cured, Solex preserves asphaltic or metal roof surfaces and reduces under roof temperatures to create a more pleasant interior work environment that is less costly to maintain. Solex meets and exceeds all the requirements of CRRC, Energy Star® and Title 24 standards, and contributes to LEED® points.

• Excellent Dirt Resistance

- Solex® contains Kynar Aquatec® resin which picks up very little dirt and allows the Solex coating to stay white longer. The Kynar Aquatec® resin allows the coating to achieve total solar reflectance values greater than 0.85 and retain that level for many years.

• Reduces Roof Degradation

- Solar heat accelerates roof system degradation. In addition, roofing materials expand and contract daily as they heat up during the day and cool at night. A roof coated with Solex does not experience such large temperature fluctuations; therefore, the roofing system undergoes less fatigue. Solex® is a white flexible finish that reflects the sun’s ultraviolet rays and reduces the damaging effects allowing your roofs system to last longer.

• Energy Savings

- Typical dark colored Built-Up Roofs can absorb over 70% of the solar energy that reaches them, creating temperatures over 82.2°C. Studies confirm that Solex® can reduce roof temperatures by 10° to 26.7°C and save significant amounts of cooling energy during the summer months.

• Reduces Roof Life-Cycle Costs

- Over time, UV light degrades the chemical structure of a roofing membrane, which then causes chalking, cracking, shrinking, loss of flexibility and surface erosion. Solex’s high-performance acrylic polymers give added impact strength, flexibility, adhesion and colorretention to aged roofing systems.

• Superb Mildew Resistance

- Solex® with the Kynar Aquatec® resin has a high resistance to mildew growth. This resistance to mildew growth allows the coating to retain its color for longer periods of time.

• Metal Surface Coating

- Solex® with Kynar Aquatec® resin, is a great coating for restoring the appearence of your metal roof system. Solex® allows a non-cool metal roof to be converted to a white cool roof and faded colors can be restored. Solex® also has great adhesion to previously coated Kynar surfaces.
